Wet Abrasive Blasting with Blastox

Wet Blasting with Blastox

Harsco, Schmidt, and TDJ Group have collaborated on a comprehensive case study to explore the compatibility of TDJ Group’s Blastox material with Schmidt’s innovative Amphiblast wet blast abrasive units. This joint effort aims to demonstrate the seamless integration of Blastox, a highly effective lead abatement additive mixed with Harsco’s Sure Cut abrasive, within the advanced wet blast system. By utilizing Blastox in the Amphiblast units, the study seeks to showcase the enhanced performance, dust suppression, and surface preparation capabilities that can be achieved when these technologies are combined.

The case study will provide detailed insights into how Blastox-blended with Sure Cut abrasive performs in real-world applications, particularly in minimizing hazardous waste generation and ensuring environmentally responsible surface preparation. The case study is poised to provide valuable insights for professionals seeking to enhance their abrasive blasting processes while prioritizing safety, efficiency, and environmental responsibility. This initiative underscores the commitment of these companies to developing innovative solutions that meet the evolving demands of their customers and the industry at large.

Recommendations:
Material should be cleaned out of blasting hose and pot before the end of every 8 hour shift and inspected. Follow operating procedures in the service manual for cleaning.

With proper care and attention, Blastox blended abrasives can be used with most slurry/wet blast systems.
